A Statement Regarding The Worlds of Huck Gee Kickstarter
In 2024, I launched The Worlds of Huck Gee: Skullhead, Gold Life and Beyond on Kickstarter. The project ultimately failed, and I did not deliver what I promised to many of its backers. I take responsibility for that.
The Kickstarter was not a scam, and I did not set out to take anyone's money without delivering the project. It was a project that I failed to complete. I made serious mistakes in budgeting, project management, and communication. The project eventually became financially unsustainable, the available funds were exhausted, and I did not have the resources to complete fulfillment or refund all of the project's backers.
I understand why people are angry and disappointed by that outcome. I also understand that some people will reach conclusions about me that I cannot change. I am not going to argue with those people or continually relitigate what happened.
In October 2025, I published a final Kickstarter update acknowledging the project's failure, explaining what happened, and providing a breakdown of the project's finances. That update remains my account of what happened and is available below for anyone who wants the fuller context.
