SGT Hicks – “R&R” print

Huck has finally finished the next print in his Colonial Life series, and it’s quite huge… the UTCMC Sgt Hicks R&R print. Hicks is getting in quite late (or is that early?) to his lakeside retreat. Salvaged from a downed Nrezatarian Class Cruiser, we think he’s cleaned the place up quite nicely. Each is printed on fine art watercolor paper (225gs), 24″x12″ (26″x14″), signed, and gold embossed in the top left corner with the print #. Limited edition run of 99 prints, $75 per print.

Now here’s the details…

While our current store is stable enough to handle day to day sales, it will not handle the masses all trying to buy this print at the same time (which has been proven several times now, unfortunately). We are currently building a new store but we haven’t had time to put it into service. So, any and all interested in purchasing this print, please email sales@huckgee.com and be sure to include your Paypal address, your shipping address and a list of what merchandise you would like to purchase (if more than just the print) and we will send you a sales invoice ASAP. First come, first served.

Limit one print per person.

Well, looks like the cat skull is finally out of the bag… HGxKBxDC

As some of you may know Huck is a huge Subaru (and rally/motorsports) fan and last year he was given the opportunity to work with Ken Block to create his “43” logo along with wrapping his rally prepped Subaru. It was a perfect creative match (you have seen the Gymkhana videos right?).

Since then Ken has moved onto the WRC (go Ken!) and team Ford (since Subaru is no longer competing in the World Rally series). Although he’s no longer driving an STi, the Fiesta is a very competitive car and we wish Ken the best of luck in the series. He’s living his rally dreams.

We don’t want to reveal too much more at this point but be sure there will be more info/product announcements to come. In the meantime, meet Blockhead:

RE: The Story of Kat Veracruz…

Hi folks, Huck here… Just wanted to take a moment to say thank you for all the feedback and kind words regarding the Kat Veracruz story that I published a few weeks ago. It was a rather interesting experience (to say the least) and while I thought it made for a great story, I was very happy to hear that everyone else seemed to agree with me. It was eye opening on many levels… I thought I’d seen it all.

Along with the public service announcement, it allowed me to exercise some dormant writing skills that I forgot I had. I’m not a writer, never taken a class, never had the interest but I am an avid reader and I love the writing process… laying my normally hectic thoughts out in straight (semi) lines. It was therapeutic and good practice for the writing projects that lay ahead of me. I have a lot more adventures, observations, memories I plan on writing up. Just some of the crazy shit I’ve experienced… Some stories I’ll publish, some I’ll put aside for a future date, and then we have a couple books in the works…

So anyways, thank you for your support again and again. I wouldnt be here without you.

Thanks,
H

Thank you!

The story of Kat Veracruz…

Miscellaneouson December 29th, 20093 Comments

Kat Veracruz

I suppose there’s only one place to start here: the beginning…

About 3 or 4 months ago I opened my Facebook to find an extremely heartwarming message from a sweet mother of two living in upstate New York named Kat. She had sent the message to both Pon and myself, writing to tell us how her 6 year old daughter named Hunter had fallen in love with our toys and artwork. Hunter had been diagnosed with leukemia several years back, had gone through chemo, and was now currently in remission. Recently, she had become completely obsessed with Dunnys and our art and she was now spending all of her free time researching our art, the history of toys, Dunnys, etc. She was fascinated and her mom was very thankful because it took her mind away from the fears of her real life.

Her story hit home with me. Kat had written it all out simply to say thank you. She didn’t ask for anything. Just to let us know that we had touched her daughter’s life. It was the kind of story that gave my work meaning… that I could catch the imagination of a 6 year old girl and inspire her. To this day it’s probably one of the most wonderful compliments I have ever received. It was a beautiful letter. I called Pon immediately. Read more »

“Skullhead #1″ Black Nickel A/Ps

Featured, Limited Productionon November 3rd, 2009No Comments

Black Nickel

Huck’s Fully Visual A/P Skullheads have finally arrived! We have 25 of these fellas and they are finished in a gorgeous Black Nickel. These pieces are large — for comparison’s sake, they are about three times larger than the first modernized Skullhead metal figure from Fully Visual, almost a pound and as big as a baseball. These paperweights of doom will each be signed, numbered and drop in the store on Friday November 6th @ noon PST for $150 each.

…and the raffle continues!

You’ve still got until Midnight on Friday to enter to win! For every $25 spent in our store between now and midnight, Friday, November 6th your name will be entered into the raffle. No limit to how many times you can enter, every $25 spent gets you another raffle ticket and gives you another chance to win. We have t-shirts, decals, Skullheads, and even some SGT Vasquez prints left! The more you buy, the more chances you have of winning. We’ll throw all these names into a hat and will announce the winner via video feed on Monday, November 9th.

Okay, talk about being long overdue but here it is, finally…. Huck has a new website! Integrated store, gallery feed, news, updates, even a webmaster! You know, a real gosh darn website. And we’ve also integrated all of Huck’s Moshpop Clothing here. Consolidate, consolidate, consolidate.

To coincide with the new website and store we are going to hold a raffle for one of Huck’s custom figures. We have one last Spike that’s been hanging out, waiting for a special occasion to be unleashed. So here’s the deal… for every $25 spent in our store between now and Friday, November 6th your name will be entered into the raffle. No limit to how many times you can enter, every $25 spent gets you another raffle ticket and gives you another chance to win. The more you buy, the more chances you have of winning. We’ll throw all these names into a hat and will announce the winner via video feed on Monday, November 9th.

How’s that sound? :)
